If you’re as anxious as I am, you’re rearing to experience the freshness of spring. The mini getaways, the long road trips – you get the picture. Well, the last thing you want to happen on your road rendezvous is to become stranded because your car breaks down.
Here’s how to avoid these unwelcome surprises:
1. Flat Tire or Blowout. If it happens, tightly grip the wheel and gently guide the car off the road immediately.
How to Prevent It. Keep all tires including your spare properly inflated by checking them at least monthly. Pay attention to your car pressure monitoring system. It’s important.
2. Dead Battery. It’s the tell-tale sign when your engine won’t start. Think it happens only in cold temperatures? Wrong! It also happens in high temperatures and that’s when you usually have more damage.
How to Prevent It. Have your battery and alternator tested as part of your Autotex Annual Check-up.
3. Broken Drive Belt. This can disable your water pump or alternator, leading to battery failure or engine overheating.
How to Prevent It. From time to time check the belt under the hood. if you feel cracks or the rubber feels brittle or fraying, it’s time to replace it.
I don’t mean to brag but with the Autotex Vehicle Preventive Maintenance it’s a matter of routine for us, we check these things from the Level 1 up to Level 3 service.
